The National Medicinal Product Catalogue (NMPC) provides a structured view of medicines available in Ireland. It organises information into six key levels that describe both generic (virtual) and branded (actual) medicines, from their active ingredients to the packs dispensed. This structure supports safer prescribing, dispensing and use of medicines across the healthcare system.
